It was supposed to be a relaxing day at Lake Garda.....  But we scored a double windsurfing session, instead, both at Pra de la Fam with the Peler, and at Pier with the Ora!

Windsurfing, report: Pier, Lake Garda, 12/09/2026. What a show!

Today, I got back from Lake Garda after spending four hours in the water... And it was supposed to be a low-key day...

In the morning, the Peler wind at Pra' kicked in beautifully. I hit the water just after 8:00 AM using the 2025 Ezzy Wave 4.7—the same sail as last Sunday, but this time it was the perfect size. The first part of the session was fantastic, thanks to both the quality of the wind and, above all, of the water surface conditions. Unfortunately, around 9:00 AM, some annoying clouds rolled in and partially covered the sky, making the wind unstable until it eventually started to drop off around 10:00 AM.

After coming off the water, I got caught up in the usual pleasant socializing, but around noon, I decided to give "the Pier" a try. It was a classic case of "not at the Pier, not at the Pier... oh, actually, at the Pier!" Accessing the Pier has become a bit of a hassle with my van... Naturally, I was directed to the parking lot above the hotel, where at least you can use the elevator to transport your gear.

While I was eating my sandwich, the wind really started to pick up. I got moving and hit the water around 1:15 PM, still using the 2025 Ezzy Wave 4.7! As for the board, I used my beloved Tabou 3S Plus 96, set up as a single fin with a 27cm MFC K-One. I chose a fin with plenty of surface area, as I didn't think the Ora wind would kick in very strongly. Yet, half an hour later, I found myself wonderfully powered up, planing smoothly—even out in the middle of the lake.

All in all, it was a great session at Pier—a spot I’ve somewhat made peace with (I can't even remember the last time I wrote a report about Pier...). Sure, the water got quite choppy at one point (partly due to the usual regatta taking place right in front of the spot), but the wind remained consistently strong. Midway through the session, I came ashore to switch my fin for a 23cm K-One, just to get a slightly smoother feel underfoot.

I finally put and an end to my windsurfing day at 3:30 PM, exhausted after spending a total of four hours on the water.
