In this article, you will find the wind (and wave) forecasts for the next few days, for the sea and/or for Lake Como and Lake Garda. A fundamental support for your windsurfing sessions, or other water sports.
Wind forecast: sea and lakes Como and Garda. Next days
Waterwind has long been a reference for all windsurfing and water sports enthusiasts, as for wind forecasts. We systematically consult weather models, and, thanks also to our spots knowledge, we provide the right tips to enjoy a good session. We share forecasts mainly for the Italian and French coasts of the Mediterranean, which we know and ride often. But we are "ocean addicts", and therefore, especially in summer, we add forecasts for the European coasts that overlook the oceans (Spain, Portugal, etc.).
The article is constantly updated. Usually, the update is made on Friday morning, to publish the forecasts for the weekend. But, if necessary, if the conditions are particularly favorable, we also proceed to publish the update during the week. Below you will find the time interval to which the forecast update refers.
Studying the forecasts, and updating this article, costs time and effort. So, it is a service reserved for users with Supporter accounts (registered users with a free account can read updates only after the referred period has expired). To become a Supporter, follow this link.
Sometimes, for quick forecasts, related to single days, we also publish updates in the Waterwind forum.
Update: June 06, 2025. Forecast for 07/06-08/06/2025
Sea
Saturday 7th June, almost a calm day, at the seaside (Med sea). Only light currents from the South, in the South East of Sardinia, West of Sicily, Lazio coast around Rome, and the Ancona area, in the Adriatic. These will be, however, very light currents.
Sunday, west wind in the area of Six Fours and Hyeres, SW in the North of Corsica, and Strait of Bonifacio (finally, wind for the EFPT in Porto Pollo). I don't think the wind will go further East.
A look even further West in Europe.... Sunday afternoon and Monday, North East in Galicia, in the Rias Altas, with a decent Swell (Xan Xurxo, Traba). The currents should then turn from the South and we will see if the spots that face West (Nemina, La Lanzada) will work a bit. From Friday 13th/Saturday 14th, they should then return to veer from North/North East, with the possibility of riding first in the Portuguese spots (Viana, Ericeira, Lourinha, Guincho), and then again in Galicia.
Lakes Como and Garda
As for the Como and Garda lakes, it will be a weekend with Breva and Ora, more uncertain on Como, with a possible risk of showers, on Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, on Como, the Foehn should begin to blow. On Garda, however, the Ora could reach interesting intensities over the weekend. Then, on Monday morning it should blow a bit of Tivano, if the Foehn doesn't disturb too much. On Garda, on Monday there should be some Peler.
If you ride, tell us in the forum how it was. If you have any further thoughts, suggestions, or want to tell us where you plan to ride, you can write in the comments below.
