In this article, you will find the wind (and wave) forecasts for the next few days, for the sea and/or for Lake Como and Lake Garda. A fundamental support for your windsurfing sessions, or other water sports. Update: July 31, 2026.
Wind forecast: sea and lakes Como and Garda. Next days
Waterwind has long been a reference for all windsurfing and water sports enthusiasts, as for wind forecasts. We systematically consult weather models, and, thanks also to our spots knowledge, we provide the right tips to enjoy a good session. We share forecasts mainly for the Italian and French coasts of the Mediterranean, which we know and ride often. But we are "ocean addicts", and therefore, especially in summer, we add forecasts for the European coasts that overlook the oceans (Spain, Portugal, etc.).
The article is constantly updated. Usually, the update is made on Friday morning, to publish the forecasts for the weekend. But, if necessary, if the conditions are particularly favorable, we also proceed to publish the update during the week. Below you will find the time interval to which the forecast update refers.
Studying the forecasts, and updating this article, costs time and effort. So, it is a service reserved for users with Supporter accounts (registered users with a free account can read updates only after the referred period has expired). To become a Supporter, follow this link.
Sometimes, for quick forecasts, related to single days, we also publish updates in the Waterwind forum.

Forecast for 01-02/08/2026
Sea
At the Med sea, there's not much to report this weekend. A bit of a westerly wind in and around Hyeres, France, good for wing and kitesurfing. Broadening the search, we only see a good Meltemi over the Greek islands, especially on Saturday.
With a thought for friends vacationing in Le Morne, Mauritius, the wind should arrive from Monday, August 3rd, with absolutely manageable swell. Keep an eye out!
Lakes Como and Garda
At the lakes of Como and Garda, instead, Saturday and Sunday nice thermals from the north will blow, due to the probable favorable positioning of night-time thunderstorms, in the mountains and in the valleys north of the lakes (even if this factor always presents margins of uncertainty). As for Garda, in terms of intensity, Peler could be stronger on Saturday, in terms of duration, it could be better on Sunday (meteoblue gives it almost all day). Unfortunately, the night on the lake will be hot, and the overnight stay in the van/camper will be challenging.
Even on Lake Como, Tivano wind should be good; perhaps, here too, better on Saturday.
I would also add a few words about Lake Silvaplana, in the Engadine, which, in recent days, is offering many beautiful days for water sports. Today, Friday, beautiful thermals from the south, driven by disturbance winds, until the weather worsens and it starts to rain. Tomorrow, average thermal wind!
If you ride, tell us in the forum how it was. If you have any further thoughts, suggestions, or want to tell us where you plan to ride, you can write in the comments below.
Have fun. Fabio
