In this article, you will find the wind (and wave) forecasts for the next few days, for the sea and/or for Lake Como and Lake Garda. A fundamental support for your windsurfing sessions, or other water sports. Update: May 14, 2026.
Wind forecast: sea and lakes Como and Garda. Next days
Waterwind has long been a reference for all windsurfing and water sports enthusiasts, as for wind forecasts. We systematically consult weather models, and, thanks also to our spots knowledge, we provide the right tips to enjoy a good session. We share forecasts mainly for the Italian and French coasts of the Mediterranean, which we know and ride often. But we are "ocean addicts", and therefore, especially in summer, we add forecasts for the European coasts that overlook the oceans (Spain, Portugal, etc.).
The article is constantly updated. Usually, the update is made on Friday morning, to publish the forecasts for the weekend. But, if necessary, if the conditions are particularly favorable, we also proceed to publish the update during the week. Below you will find the time interval to which the forecast update refers.
Studying the forecasts, and updating this article, costs time and effort. So, it is a service reserved for users with Supporter accounts (registered users with a free account can read updates only after the referred period has expired). To become a Supporter, follow this link.
Sometimes, for quick forecasts, related to single days, we also publish updates in the Waterwind forum.

Forecast for 14-17/05/2026
Sea
An Atlantic disturbance (almost, a rarity, recently) is passing over northern Italy these days, bringing the classic southwesterly and then northwesterly wind cycle to the western Mediterranean.
Today (Thursday the 14th), southwesterly winds up to 50 knots will blow over western Liguria (Imperia) and northern Corsica. A westerly wind will blow in the Strait of Bonifacio, and, light, along the Tyrrhenian coasts of central Italy. A southwesterly wind will also blow near Cannes (France), and a westerly wind will blow near Hyères.
Tomorrow (Friday the 15th), a westerly wind will blow over Six Fours Les Plages (France) and Hyères, and will then gradually shift from southwest in Liguria. A good direction for Liguria spots, and both Imperia, Andora, and Albenga should be working well.
On Saturday the 16th, a strong mistral will begin in France (Coudou, Hyeres), then it will reach all of Sardinia (Bonifacio channel - quite strong, here - Funtana and Capo Mannu, and a weaker in Sant'Antioco), and finally the coasts of Lazio, Campania, Calabria, and Sicily (north and west/southwest). Tramontana will blow in the morning in Liguria.
Finally, on Sunday the 17th, a weakening mistral will be seen, with significant intensity only in the Six Fours area (Le Brusc spot), Hyeres, and the Strait of Bonifacio. A pleasant south-westerly wind will continue in the Calvi area (Corsica).
Since summer heat and calm days are on the way, it's best to make the most of it!
Lakes Como and Garda
As for Lake Como, Foehn winds are expected to arrive on Saturday, and Breva winds are expected to arrive on Sunday in the northern part of the lake (although not with exceptional thermal gradient). For Lake Garda, a Peler wind is possible, with overcast skies on Saturday, and, above all, a beautiful Peler wind and sunshine on Sunday.
The lakes, too, will experience sunshine and warmth in the following days, along with thermal breezes.
If you ride, tell us in the forum how it was. If you have any further thoughts, suggestions, or want to tell us where you plan to ride, you can write in the comments below.
