I’ve fulfilled a dream! For 30 years, I had been studying the description of the section of the Strada degli Alpini that leads to the Sentinella Pass in the Sesto Dolomites. On Sunday, August 9, 2026, I finally managed to complete this hike, combining it with three other *via ferratas*, including the challenging Zandonella West route.

I'd been told the Ponteranica Lakes were a fascinating place, so I'd put them on my list of planned hikes. Finally, I reached them, starting from Piani dell'Avaro, in the Brembana Valley, on a loop that also touched the pass and Mount Triomen.

Another memorable day of trekking in the Seriana Valley, in the Orobie Alps: from Valbondione, we climbed to the Coca Refuge and Lake Coca; we then crossed to the Curò Hut, before returning to Valbondione, completing a long but stunning loop.

The Grassi Hut, in the upper Biandino Valley, has always fascinated me. After 30 years, I returned there, with a challenging trek, starting from Introbio, in Valsassina. This time, too, the destination did not disappoint me.
