Windsurfing, sailing, and mountain stories
Fourth trip for me to Cape Town, South Africa, in search of wind and waves. The Western Cape always offers great emotions, and much more besides windsurfing.
The first experiences of windsurfing among the waves can be frustrating: they all pass under your board and you don't catch a single one. But acquiring the right waveriding technique will open the doors to a magical discipline, perhaps the most exciting of windsurfing, which really puts you in contact with the sea.
The mountains and cross-country skiing gave me another memorable day! For some time, I had set myself the goal of going and exploring the area dedicated to cross-country skiing in Saint Barthelemy, in the Aosta Valley. On January 6, 2024 I took the test, and I was enchanted.
The best and hardest track I've ever done! Finally, I succeeded in the feat of covering the entire Val Fex on cross-country skis, in the Engadine, from Sils Maria to Alp Muot Selvas, and to Plaun Vadret.
Yesterday, Pra de la Fam (Lake Garda) gave us a really nice windsurfing day, with a growing Peler wind during the morning, and with almost pleasant temperatures.

The third edition of the Lanzarote Foil Challenge was held yesterday on the island of Lanzarote. In an exciting day, riders enjoyed the favourable wind that made them fly on the foil windsurfing board along the coastline, reaching speeds of up to 30 knots.
On Friday and Saturday I returned to two spots where I hadn't ridden in a while: Andora and Cannes Palm Beach. The windsurfing session in Andora was short, but very pleasant, and above all it was a dive into the past, full of emotions....
Having to replace my windsurfing harness, Dakine T8, I took the opportunity to try a Ride Engine model. The choice fell on the Ride Engine Lyte V1, in the Direct Connection version. Here is the test result.

The 24th edition of La Boulangère Mini Transat, unquestionably one of best events, lived up to all its promises, writing one of the most unforgettable chapters in the history of the competition and, more broadly, in offshore racing.
For a few weeks now, the thermal gradient established between the mountains and the lake has been producing Peler blasts at the Pra de la Fam, Lake Garda. Even today, November 18th, a nice blow, a little disturbed by the foehn at high altitude.
