Going to Silvaplana is always a pleasure, expecially when you have 38°C, down in Milan, and you want to get some refreshment, together with some wind. On 5 of August, we enjoyed 15-17 kts, for an easy freeride session, there.

Coming from an unbearably hot Milan, just the beatiful, green and blue, mountain views justify driving up to Engadin in summer time. I had my session with my freeride equipment. The wind was good from 13,00 until 17,00 and in the first two hours was at its best. Water was incredibly "warm" for the period (if I didn't fall in the water, I felt almost hot with my 4/3). As usual in August, lots of tourists were at Silvaplana, and a good number of windsurfers were in the water, even if there was no problem of crowding. Lots of kiters were there too, but mainly more downwind, starting from "their" beach (at North of Silvaplana camping site), and riding in front of it.

After 16,00, I was not able to get constant planing (only riders with slalom gear or very big sail were still planing), and so I ended my session, being satisfied anayway. And in the late evening, since forecasts were really good, I left by car to reach Garda Lake, where on Sunday 6, I had a very funny and crazy day (read reports).

Aloha. Fabio
