Happy to hear good news from you! Maybe, in the future we will have an holiday in Croatia. I am at lake Garda, these days, enjoying some early morning breeze. It's hot here too. September is a good time for bora wind (that we usually enjoy on the coast near Venice). So you should have a good time in the water.

All the best. Fabio

Hi Fabio,

Just wanted to make some updates. My last post was a bit grim ..:)
The situation got better and I even managed to get some surfing days!!!

I'm on Bol beach, on the island od Brač. I suppose you know the spot..
There is a stretch between the two islands and it is great for surfing. The wind is the Maestral, and thanks to the termica it blows every day from 14h - 19h approx. It's been very light these days due to the high temperatures, but I didn't expect any, so I'm happy that I got this at least.
In september it gets really windy and I'm planning to come back for a week for some real improvement.
Since I haven't surfed for a whole year, I am very happy with my surfing the last two days.

Hope that all of you have had good surfing days lately!

Attached some pics and a video.

Speak soon!
K.

Hi Klaudia. I understand the situation, and I wish you to get through this difficult moment.

As for me, yes, I have been riding both at lakes, and at seaside the last weeks. So, I consider myself a lucky guy.

If you want to get some relief from your troubles, you can read about my last sessions in Waterwind english homepage: www.waterwind.it/new/en/

All the best. Fabio

Ciao Fabio,

No news I'm afraid.

After the quarantine I went back to Zagreb, and haven't returned to the coast until this week. We are all in survival mode, so even if what
I would most love to do is windsurfing, there are some more urgent things to take care of at the moment.

The past week I have been in Rovinj, but no wind.. :/

Maybe I go to Pelješac in September, but plans and rules are changing almost daily, so at this point it is impossible to plan anything.

I'm definitely still planning to buy the gear and continue my windsurfing career, but I have to postpone it a little bit.

Have you had some good surfing days in Italy?

Ciao,
K.

Some more details about me: I'm 40, 1,76m, 65kg. I am in a good physical condition.
I rode mostly here on the Croatian coast - Istria and Pelješac. Mostly bora wind, up to 25 knots (up to 30 .. with gusts), almost
always on choppy conditions. There is also a good spot in Rovinj for the southern wind, also quite choppy conditions.
We don't have that much days of wind in the summer, which is when the windsurfing center is open, so had limited possibilities.
Pre season and post season the conditions are better, so I hope now that I will have my own gear, will be able to be on the
water much more.

Well, Bora wind with gusts up to 25 - 30 kts, and choppy water surface are not the best conditions to learn or improve your skills, expecially with a 135 freeride board.
In choppy waters, at least a freestylewave 100-110 liters board would be better; but, as we told you, you could have more difficulties to learn how to get planing.

Anyway, my suggestion is to buy a freeride board, without spending too much money. Having your own board is really important to spend lots of hours on the water, to make progress through practice. Once you have a good level with the planing technique, after a couple of years, you can switch to a freestylewave board.

Keep us updated!

All the best.

Fabio
