For Santa Lucia, Lake Garda brought all good riders... lots and lots of Peler, for a late autumn good windsurfing session, actually with the air still warm!
Windsurfing, report: Pra de la fam, Lake Garda: 13/12/2025
In Garda, we trust, I wrote in the forecast on the forum. Lake Garda was probably the only place in Italy that allowed windsurfers to ride with 25 knots of wind today. I didn't even think the wind would be so strong at Pra. Yet, as Simone suggested, the absence of a very strong rider from Salò... should have led us to expect a beautiful day of strong winds!!!
The wind started to come into the spot well around 9:30, as usual at this time of year. I wisely opted for the Goya Guru 4.2, which, in fact, remained quite big until 11:00, even with the lower clew. Underfoot, my trusty Tabou 3s Plus 96, which I set up as a single fin, with a 23mm K-One MFC, but which, in hindsight, I would have preferred in a thurster trim for greater control when sailing straight and greater lateral grip when the board is working on its rails.
The spot was quite crowded, given the good forecast, and the water level was consequently often annoyingly choppy.
I stayed in the water until 11:50, when I exited due to exhaustion and hunger. But the wind, though more unstable, would have allowed me to plan for another half hour with the 4.2.
At the end of the morning, 15 degrees Celsius, and the usual wonderful view of Lake Garda.
Aloha. Fabio.
