On the mountains, you go with your mind, and not only with your legs. And you also go there to heal your mind .... The excursion to Gino's Peak (Pizzo di Gino), in Cavargna Valley, in the Prealps of Lake Como confirmed these ideas.

My Pizzo di Gino (Gino's Peak, Prealps, Lake Como)

I hadn't climbed Pizzo di Gino for almost thirty years. When you're 55, it's normal to start doing repetitions in ascents.

I climbed to the top of this wonderful peak in Val Cavargna on November 1, 1996. Last Saturday (May 23, 2025), I returned in search of wild landscapes, and intense emotions, to relax and distract my mind. And Pizzo di Gino (or Menone, as it is also nicknamed) did not disappoint me, despite the day with many passing clouds. Indeed, the cloud cover, as had already happened to me on the occasion of the climb to Bregagno, or to Marmontana, always in this area, gave me scenarios and plays of light, which were perhaps even more suggestive.

There are so many excursions around Pizzo di Gino, and they are all very beautiful.

I hope to return to these Mountains as soon as possible.

Have a good climb. Fabio
