Wind forecast: sea and lakes Como and Garda. Next days

 

Waterwind has long been a reference for all windsurfing and water sports enthusiasts, as for wind forecasts. We systematically consult weather models, and, thanks also to our spots knowledge, we provide the right tips to enjoy a good session. We share forecasts mainly for the Italian and French coasts of the Mediterranean, which we know and ride often. But we are "ocean addicts", and therefore, especially in summer, we add forecasts for the European coasts that overlook the oceans (Spain, Portugal, etc.).

The article is constantly updated. Usually, the update is made on Friday morning, to publish the forecasts for the weekend. But, if necessary, if the conditions are particularly favorable, we also proceed to publish the update during the week. Below you will find the time interval to which the forecast update refers.

Forecast for 27/06-03/07/2026

 

 

Sea

 

The last weekend of the African anticyclone, then the atmospheric circulation should change from Monday, over Europe. Therefore, this weekend, no wind to report in the Mediterranean sea. From Monday, a light northwesterly wind will blow in Languedoc, France (Gruissan), but then the true Mistral will enter the South of France from Wednesday, July 1st, and will continue until the 3rd, and perhaps, with a few days' pause, until July 8th (wait for models updates). The Mistral should also reach Sardinia: at the moment, it looks like the areas of Porto Pollo and Sant'Antioco will be most affected.

The wind will also return to the Atlantic ocean, which, given my imminent departure for Galicia/Portugal, is a great piece of news. On Monday the 29th and Tuesday the 30th, a northwesterly swell will be expected, along with strong northerly winds over Portugal and lighter northerly winds over Galicia. Monday could be a nice day in Galicia (Doninos or San Xurxo), while the Guincho could work well, especially on Tuesday the 30th. Then, from July 2-3, the Azores high pressure will move northeast, and the wind will shift from north to northeast, favoring Galicia. Traba will certainly give wind and waves.

 

Lakes Como and Garda

 

Weekend, hot, muggy, and quite quiet on the lakes. It will generally be a good weekend for light thermals from the South (Breva and Ora), which may increase or decrease in intensity, depending on the positioning of the storms, as happened in the last two days. From Monday 29th, however, the thermals from the North should blow again well, especially the Peler over Garda, even for several consecutive days!
