In this article, you will find the wind (and wave) forecasts for the next few days, for the sea and/or for Lake Como and Lake Garda. A fundamental support for your windsurfing sessions, or other water sports. Update: November 21, 2025.

Wind forecast: sea and lakes Como and Garda. Next days

Waterwind has long been a reference for all windsurfing and water sports enthusiasts, as for wind forecasts. We systematically consult weather models, and, thanks also to our spots knowledge, we provide the right tips to enjoy a good session. We share forecasts mainly for the Italian and French coasts of the Mediterranean, which we know and ride often. But we are "ocean addicts", and therefore, especially in summer, we add forecasts for the European coasts that overlook the oceans (Spain, Portugal, etc.).

The article is constantly updated. Usually, the update is made on Friday morning, to publish the forecasts for the weekend. But, if necessary, if the conditions are particularly favorable, we also proceed to publish the update during the week. Below you will find the time interval to which the forecast update refers.

Studying the forecasts, and updating this article, costs time and effort. So, it is a service reserved for users with Supporter accounts (registered users with a free account can read updates only after the referred period has expired). To become a Supporter, follow this link.

Sometimes, for quick forecasts, related to single days, we also publish updates in the Waterwind forum.

Forecast for 20-23/11/2025

Sea

A train of Atlantic low pressures looks to arrive over the next few days, bringing strong winds to the Mediterranean.

On Thursday, November 20th, the mistral will arrive in southern France, from Leucate to Fréjus. It will be pleasantly intense, and temperatures will remain fairly mild. Excellent conditions at Coudoulière. Hyères will be somewhat cut off. WSW winds in northern Corsica and in the Livorno area. Sardinia won't yet see significant winds, except for the Strait of Bonifacio. Friday, November 21st, similar conditions, but with much stronger winds, more northerly, in southern France, from Leucate to Six Four Les Plages. Temperatures will drop.

Still a bit of WSW winds in northern Corsica. Sardinia again will not see significant winds, except for the Strait of Bonifacio (Porto Pollo).

On Saturday the 22nd, the wind will be more northerly across southern France, but will remain approximately around Marseille. Tramontana will blow across the Gulf of Genoa and northeastern Sardinia. Bora will blow in the upper Adriatic, possibly dying out early in the morning near Sottomarina, before blowing slightly southerly in the afternoon. Unfortunately, it's unclear exactly which spots it will hit. Therefore, a trip to those areas is somewhat risky.

The wind should also reach western and southwestern Sardinia (from Sinis to S'Antioco). A strong westerly wind will blow across Sicily.

On Sunday, it looks like it will be WSW in the afternoon across Sardinia along the entire western coast, in the Strait of Bonifacio, and in the Cagliari area.

From Monday the 25th, a new disturbance appears to be arriving. Currently, strong south-westerly winds are expected in Sardinia (Chia top), along the Tyrrhenian coast (Livorno, and from Grosseto to Cape Palinuro), and in Sicily. On Tuesday the 26th, the winds will shift back to a mistral, at least in Sardinia. Then, it looks like the wind will continue to blow through the second half of the week. We'll see if it's worth a trip.

Lakes Como and Garda

As for Lakes Como and Garda, today, Friday the 21st, as expected, a storm from the north has arrived over Lake Garda, lasting all day (6-7 degrees Celsius). On Lake Como, today there will be northerly winds and rain mixed with snow (3 degrees Celsius). On Saturday the 22nd, Foehn and Peler winds (related to the low pressure system) will arrive, respectively. The sun will return, but with a wind chill just above zero.
