Castiglione della Pescaia, in the Province of Grosseto - Tuscany, is a very good spot for those who want to windsurf in the area, mainly in summer; but with the right tips, it can give very nice sessions also during the other seasons, as happened to us on the 1st of January 2018.

Windsurf spots reviews: Castiglione della Pescaia (Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy)

Castiglione della Pescaia is a very characteristic village of Maremma, with a beautiful old historical center, and two beautiful long beaches, at the North and South. We are in Maremma, and the view is charming, with the mountains covered by a thick Mediterranean vegetation, which sometimes reach the coast. Looking towards the sea, the Uccellina Mountains, the Argentario promontory and the islands of the Tuscan archipelago stand out on the horizon, and, as if all this were not enough, you also have a coastal sand dune (i.e at the beach at south of Castiglione), and extensive forests of marine pines, just behind the beaches.

In the village of Castiglione della Pescaia, there are many good spots to go out for windsurfing, and even the immediate surroundings offer many possibilities: Castiglione village, Pinetina Sud, Le Rocchette, Punta Ala, and Marina di Grosseto.

As for places to see, where to sleep or eat, the choice could be very wide. We limit ourselves to suggest, on the basis of our direct experience, the visit of the Uccellina Natural Park, and Grosseto (city with a beautiful historical center).

As for the places to sleep, we stayed at the Residence Le Galere, a renovated farmhouse with comfortable apartments, in the quiet countryside behind Castiglione, where we had a nice staying.

As for the places to eat, Maremma is a kind of Disneyland..... We only give you a quotation, but really worthy of note: Vineria da Romolo in Grosseto, a place with the genuine (and not fake) atmosphere of a real Tuscan trattoria (which means simple but typical restaurant), where they serve an extraordinary "Ribollita" (a vegetable and bread course, with olive oil), and where even the wine in carafe does not will disappoint you (low prices).

Hang loose. Fabio
